In cooperation with the United States Educational Group (USEG) and Al Salam Social Sport Club, a great fair of gathering around 42 American Universities was made at Tuesday, 3rd of November 2009 in the Hall of King Abdullah in Qatif City under the title:


Education and the Future
Hosted more than 37 American universities representing 40 states, which are recommended and certified by the Saudi Ministry of Higher Education

This exhibition comes as a result of continuous unbroken efforts by the social activist Jaafar Alympioq and Council Management Member of Al Salam Social & Sport Club Fadel Al-Nemer, who worked for more than five months spent in the overall coordination and communication with among others, to arrange for the exhibition

The group of the universities representatives arrived at (3:30pm) and they were welcomed by Al Salam Club president Ali Al-Zahir and a others members of the Council Management Members of Al Salam Club and its staff and the head of the Honors Members Abdullah Ali Al-Nemer and the Chairman of Awamiya Village Charity Ali Abdullah Al-Ibrahim

After lunch, the group began the ceremony which started by Jaafar Alympioq speech then, a word from the Coordinator of the Scholarships Program in Saudi Aramco Company, followed by a welcome speech on behalf of Al Salam Club and the Awamiya Citizens delivered by Abdullah Ali Al-Nemer, and then followed by presentation of Mr. Ali Al-Qarous addressed by some obstacles and issues facing the scholarships and the students while applying for the US Visa. At the end Al Salam Club president Mr. Ali Al-Zahir Abdullah Al-Nemer submit a shield tribute to the Coordinator of USEG Joseph Z. Humadi for his participation and efforts to gathering the group

After that, the representatives group of the universities positioned for their place in the hall for the reception of the students who attend the fair

Exhibition
Started at 6:00pm and lasted for four hours continuously. The exhibit attendance has exceeded five thousand people of both genders coming from different regions & towns of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Arabian Gulf

During the exhibition, educational brochures distributed by the participating universities about the systems, admission requirements, definition and the exams required of the students, as well as to identify the cost to study and living, housing and health insurance, Also there was a conditional acceptance to the stage of Master's Degree and this hasn't been applied before

Granted the first deaf students the opportunity to study at the University of Washington, and 300 students were accepted directly at U.S. universities

The exhibit also was supported volunteers of Awamiya City and some areas of the province especially in the field of translation. Boys Scouts of Al Salam Club played a big role to arrange, organize and controlling the exhibit. Also the presence of Saudi Police Officers outside the exhibition hall for security and monitoring of the traffic

Media Coverage
The media of the exhibition were covered in two phases:
Phase I: Before the event, through advertisements in local newspapers and several websites, in addition to local clubs Phones, as it should be noted as excellent coverage of Al Salam Club media

Phase II: During the exhibition, the Saudi TV Channel One made an interview with Jaafar Alympioq and some of the Public. Also, two newspapers "Al Hiat" & "Aliyaum" were in the exhibition

In a statement of the Representative of USEG Joseph Humadi: "The group in the Middle East tour seeking to create a competitive environment and variety of American universities, noting that the goal is not to collect the number of students, but the diversity of cultures that come with different nationalities. university has got different policy with regard to scholarships, and some universities give a reduction in tuition fees"

As part of the reactions and the impression made by the representatives of universities, they liked the exhibition and described it as the most impressive tour in the Middle East in terms of attendance, organization and interaction, and they demanded the continued cooperation with the Organizing Committee and the Management of Al Salam Club and wished for the fair to last more than one day

At the end, there was a farewell to the participating universities with the same reception that they greeted with.
